CHARLOTTESVILLE, VA — Joseph Strouth, 31, of Charlottesville, died Sunday after a motorcycle he was riding collided with another vehicle at the intersection of 5th Street Extended and Fifth Street Station Parkway. Emergency responders pronounced him dead at the scene shortly after 3:10 p.m. The driver of the other vehicle remained on-site and is cooperating with authorities.

The Charlottesville Police Department, along with the Traffic Unit and General Investigations Bureau, are working with the Commonwealth Attorney’s Office to determine the circumstances of the crash. Traffic was disrupted for several hours as investigators gathered evidence.
