An investigation is underway in Sharonville, Ohio, after a fatal industrial accident at a Ford facility claimed the life of a worker.
Authorities say the incident occurred Monday morning at the Ford Transmission Plant, where 61-year-old Gregory Knopf was performing routine maintenance on a press machine. According to police, the machine was inadvertently activated, pinning him.
Emergency crews responded quickly, freeing Knopf from the equipment before initiating lifesaving measures. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries.
