Tara Hardin and Floris Wolford Death, Domestic Violence Shooting Conroe, Texas
A quiet neighborhood in Conroe was the scene of a devastating domestic incident Monday afternoon that left two women dead and a family shattered.
Authorities say deputies responded to a home on Shoreview Drive just before 2 p.m. after a 911 call reported a vehicle crashing into the residence, followed by gunfire. When law enforcement arrived, they discovered two victims inside — identified as 57-year-old Tara Hardin and her 80-year-old mother, Floris Wolford. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators say the suspect, 57-year-old Stanley Earl Hardin, is the husband of Tara Hardin. According to officials, Tara had called 911 moments before the shooting, warning that her husband was approaching the home after crashing his truck into it. Gunshots were reportedly heard during that call.
Authorities say the suspect then left the scene and went to a nearby residence before eventually being located at another property. He was taken into custody without incident and is now charged with capital murder. He is being held without bond at the Montgomery County Jail.
Neighbors described the area as typically quiet, now shaken by the sudden violence. Multiple law enforcement agencies responded, including major crimes investigators and crime scene units, as officials worked to process the scene and determine what led up to the shooting.
The investigation remains ongoing as authorities continue to piece together the timeline and motive.
The family is expected to release obituary, memorial, funeral, and visitation arrangements in the coming days. Pending those details, not all information may be fully confirmed, and this report may be updated as new information becomes available.
